1. Place your sling over your shoulder and hold your baby high up on the side opposite your rings.
2. The arm, same side as your rings opens out the bottom of the pouch to allow your baby's legs to pass all the way through, as you lower her to hip position. Ensure she is seated with the lower rail extending to the backs of her knees and the upper rail, over her shoulders or to her armpits if arms are to be out of the sling.
3. Pull the loose fabric around from your back to the front of your pouch and draw your baby in close. Pin your 'baby-side' arm to your side and trap the loose fabric between this arm and your rings for easy adjustment.
4. Support your baby at carrying height and adjust the sling by pulling on all sections of the tail until your baby is as high and close as feels comfortable and secure. |

5.Pay particular attention to the lower rail, ensuring that it is not loose and that your baby is seated with upper legs parallel to the ground to prevent pressure points. Ie: the feet, knees and hip should form a right angle. NOTE The bottom should not ever be higher than the knees. |
6. Hip carry with baby's arms free of pouch.
NOTE: Refer to Breastfeeding instructions for Hip positions feeding.
7. Hip carry with baby's arms tucked into pouch.
NOTE: Tail can be tucked out of sight under baby's bottom.
8. It is easy to move your baby from the hip position to a semi-back carry briefly if you need to attend to a task with both hands in front of your baby, eg: writing a cheque. Simply lift your arm behind your baby on the side he is carried, place it over his head and place it in front of him. |
