1. Lay
the sling flat on a table or allow the ring ends to drop to the ground. Gather
the edges together with both hands until you are able to hold the evenly
gathered tail in one hand.
|
2. Hold
the rings in one hand and the gathered end in the other, ensuring that the
sling is not twisted anywhere along the body.
|
3. Pass the gathered edge of
the sling through the inside of both rings.
4. Separate the rings and pass
the gathered edge back through the top ring only until the sling loop you have created is about as long as your
arm. |
5. To ensure the fabric is
spread evenly alone the rings, separate them and raise enough fabric up
between them that you can open up any folded areas from one edge to the other
like so.
When
you adjust your sling your, the area of the tail you are pulling needs to
correspond with the same area inside your rings.
|
6. This image shows the fabric evenly spread through the rings. This is
essential for easy adjustment of your sling for a secure and comfortable
fit.
NOTE:
When later adjusting your sling, the area of the tail you are pulling must
correspond with the same area inside your rings.
|
7. Hold
the rings in one hand with the tail facing the Front. Put your arm through
the sling and bring it over your head.
|
8. Before placing baby, adjust
your sling to carrying height. To ensure comfort and security, this should be
at or above your waistline. This image shows a pouch that is too low and needs
to be adjusted higher as shown in image 9.
|
9. Firmly pull the tail
through the rings while holding the pouch at your waist, until it feels
right. If you just pull the Tail without holding the pouch in place, your
rings will travel out of position.
|
10. The shoulder padding should
be positioned well away from the side of your neck and the rings sit in front
of your shoulder, just below your clavicle bone |
11. Before placing baby in the
sling, check the fabric is not twisted and spreads evenly across your back by
finding the top and bottom edges or 'rails' and opening them away from each other.
|
12. This image shows the top and
bottom 'rails' of the sling.
NOTE:
The top 'rail' is also known as the outer rail of the pouch, and the bottom
rail becomes the inner rail or wall of your pouch as used in the cradle carry.
|
13. There is rarely need to
unthread your sling, but each time you use it you should check the fabric is
evenly gathered along your rings before placing your baby.
|
14. The outer edges of your
tail should be visible on each side of your rings. Pulling the outer edges of
the tail apart, near the rings will show any twisted areas and doing this
will often unravel the edges.
|
15. If your Hug-a-Bub
Traditional Ring Sling is reversible, remember you can thread your sling with
the colour or pattern you prefer most visible.
NOW YOU ARE READY TO PLACE
YOUR BABY.
